Emergency Dental Care in Greensboro
At Triad Smile Center, we know accidents rarely happen at convenient times. We welcome patients with dental emergencies to take advantage of our same-day or walk-in appointments, should the incident occur during normal business hours. In the event that your dental emergency occurs after hours, please call us immediately and leave a voicemail. We will respond as soon as possible in order to have you seen by our dentist.
Should an unfortunate event ever occur, it pays to be prepared and respond to a stressful situation calmly and efficiently. Call our office at 336-370-4040 if you experience any of the following:
Persistent Toothache or Mouth Pain
The cause of a toothache could be one of many, so it’s difficult to discern a remedy based on a tooth pain alone. Avoid exposing the area to irritants such as sugar, intense heat or cold, or any other element that might increase pain.
Knocked Out Tooth
If an adult tooth has been knocked out (avulsed), the first step is to remain calm. If possible, locate the tooth quickly and gently rinse it under warm water. Do not attempt to scrub or clean the tooth, as you may remove vital surface tissue. We recommend reinserting the tooth into the empty socket, if possible. Otherwise, place it in a glass of milk and bring it with you to your appointment. When a tooth is avulsed, timing is of the essence.
When a tooth is cracked, you run the risk of bacteria compromising the pulp and root, causing an infection. If you suffer a cracked tooth, immediately rinse your mouth with warm water. Call our office and plan on coming in as soon as possible. To reduce any swelling, use ice packs or a cold compress.
